fsugrad
Hi everyone, we got a call back from the UF Vet School a few minutes ago and they told us that Toby made it through his surgery just fine. He needs to stay the night at the vet school as they want to keep him on heavy duty (injectable) pain meds for rest of day and night. We will be able to pick him up sometime tomorrow. Thanks for all the positive thoughts, wishes and prayers. I'll continue to keep you guys posted. Guest goofydog
Great update Rita! You'll be surprised how quickly he recovers from the operation. Also by how well he adjusts. Get Em was one eyed for several years adn the only thing I promised him was that I wouldn't move the furniture Oh, I did move the leash to my right hand for walks etc so no one could approach him unexpected (his left eye was removed). Sending white light and healing thoughts to your handsome stripey boy.
greyhoundlov
My Peke had an eye removed. We just needed to make sure he knew we were there so as not to startle him and maybe get snapped at (in typical Peke little $hit fashion). fsugrad
He's home! The vet said Toby's surgery went great and that he was a model patient. I knew he would be, this dog is a saint! Here's what he looks like now. A little rough between the shaved eye area, the swelling and the stitches. But she said he should feel like a new dog in a couple of days, stitches come out in 10-14 days and of course the fur will grow back. Thanks so much for all the prayers and good wishes!!!
