Guest Yankeegreyhound Posted July 29, 2014 Share Posted July 29, 2014 One year ago today, my Sara had to say goodbye. I will try not to cry today but instead celebrate the wonderful life she had. She came to us when she just turned 2. She was our first greyhound and introduced us to this wonderful and crazy cult. She loved going on car rides with Dewey and Grapehounds being her favorites, of course. She loved her kids. Anyone who met her fell in love with her instantly. She was sweet when she wanted to be but she also had a bossy side. She was an amazing girl with soft bunny hair. We had a wonderful last weekend together last year at Grapehounds. I had thought about not bringing her but I think that would have killed her spirit. She was such a social girl. While it was hard to say goodbye to her, I was grateful for the extra 2 1/2 years we had together after her amputation (liposarcoma, not osteo). Thank you to all my friends at Grapehounds this year who supported me and who listened to me talk about her over and over. She was one of a kind.
