robinw Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Kar' I know how upsetting it is to have to witness what you witnessed. I had the same thing with bridge angel Loca. She kept collapsing and was in obvious pain, vet would say that she pulled a muscle. We finally ended up at the E-vet, then University of Guelph for tests. There came a point where I said, no more tests, she was into much pain and I just didn't want her to hurt any more. No sleep for a week, work getting upset because dog is more important than job, etc. I made the same decision that you made and it was a decision out of love and compassion. It was heartbreaking to watch, especially while trying to heal myself. Can you get her out for outings to see and do new things? I found giving her different experiences and a lot of extra attention would help. However, the only thing that finally worked for her was another dog, which I know is not in the cards for you. I am sorry.
