dbullwinkel
I am encouraging my new girl to enjoy a kong..she is no a fan of peanut butter..even mixed with good stuff. I am going to get a can of that kong spray, but prefer more natural additions. I am wondering what others have found to be high value kong treats. Thanks

Guest lunasmom
I second using kibble, i usually moisten it after I fill the kong. In addition to what others have mentioned, you could also use canned dog food. Sometimes I will also mix a few training treats in with the kibble, or include a small milkbone. scullysmum
As above, moistened kibble but mixed with a little cream cheese and a little cooked pasta, then frozen. Guest AimeeBee
I use kibble, peanut butter, plain yogurt, sometimes little soft treats. Like Zizi mentioned, the Kong website has a bunch of recipes to try -- I've also found a bunch on Pinterest, if you use that site.
Guest carriej
Chance gets a kong everyday. I use all kinds of stuff. His favorite is grated carrot and scrambled eggs; I block the entrance with cream cheese and freeze it. Sometimes I use kibble and cottage cheese, or SARDINES (loves this) and rice. Rice is one of my favorite things to use because it can be stuffed in there so tightly. However I have stuffed everything from leftover mashed potatoes (plain) to treats/peanut butter... As long as pup can eat it you can stuff it. However, lately I have been stuffing it with orijen freeze fried food. This food is WAY too expensive to feed exclusively to my dog (he gets regular orijen or acana) but the freeze dried medallions make great kong stuffers once rehydrated. He goes bonkers! I always just plug the end with a kibble piece so stuff doesn't drip.
krissn333
I fill the Kong with kibble and seal the large end with plain greek yogurt (it is thicker and stays put better). Then I freeze it For a more challenging experience I'd mix kibble with greek yogurt in a bowl, then spoon it into the Kong and freeze Quote Kristin in Moline, IL USA with Ozzie (MRL Crusin Clem), Clarice (Clarice McBones), Latte and Sage the IGs, and the kitties: Violet and Rose Lovingly Remembered: Sutra (Fliowa Sutra) 12/02/97-10/12/10, Pinky (Pick Me) 04/20/03-11/19/12, Fritz (Fritz Fire) 02/05/01 - 05/20/13, Ace (Fantastic Ace) 02/05/01 - 07/05/13, and Carrie (Takin the Crumbs) 05/08/99 - 09/04/13. RedHead
I buy rotisserie chickens, cheap roasts, etc. from the grocery store. I cut them up to use as kong stuffers and training treats (I freeze the extras). Way cheaper than store bought treats, and I know nothing is added to it. I usually stuff the kong with that, maybe a bit of kibble, and top it with canned food, tuna, or PB.
ramonaghan
I do some combination of kibble, soft treats, FreshPet wet food, natural PB, natural applesauce, cottage cheese, cream cheese, mashed banana, and honey and freeze it overnight. I try to change it up daily so Sweep doesn't get bored, but those are the basic ingredients I use. This site is a good resource for recipes. Guest ayimera
I use her kibble and chicken stock and freeze it. I'll put a little PB at the top to entice her to lick, but I bet you could use yogurt or pumpkin too. Sometimes I'll throw in veggies, shredded pork (or bits of meat from whatever leftovers are available), banana. There's so many options out there! Guest OPointyDog
I take canned pumpkin, and mix it with all the crumbs and broken pieces from the bottom of the bag of dog biscuits. Then smear it on the inside of the kong, and plug with peanut butter or wet dog food or cream cheese. Then freeze it. They each get one every night while we are eating dinner. We have 8 kongs in all, but at any given moment, I can only ever find 2 or 3 because they roll all over the place!
