greysmom Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I'm not sure where to put this, as it's not about the dogs per se, or about a medical problem. Toni had her toe amputated on Monday (she's doing great), and I took her back in today for a bandage change. When the tech was done, the new office manager came in and introduced herself - which was nice, since we seem to be there so much! Then she procede to tell me that the practice was going to credit my account for $60 dollars since I had to wait so long to pick Toni up after her surgery on Monday. I considered keeping my mouth shut, but thought that the person who really did have to wait an hour for her dog would appreciate the $60 more. My pickup was uneventful and took about 20 minutes. So I told her I thought she had me mixed up with one of the other patients that day. She thanked me for my honesty and said she'd still give me a $30 credit! I love our vet! GreyhoundGirl Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Wow! That's fantastic. It sounds like they're really trying to keep people happy and perhaps change things. I love my vet but I wish they had done something like that for me when I had to wait 45 minutes with Molly (and her fractured paw). I finally had to ask for a blanket so she could lay down. The vet tech finally went out and told them (I could hear her) that we were still waiting. She was more ticked than I was. Quote
Charlies_Dad Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 That is great! Good customer service goes a long ways these days, no matter what the service is being offered. Many companies could learn from your vet! Guest Heehoo Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 That is awesome! See, they're not all in it for the money. I love my vet & his peeps too. I've been using the same vet for over 30 years. Quote
greysmom Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 We switched to this vet practice on the advice of a greyhound-owning neighbor and I've been extremely happy with them. There are now six vets - up from four when we first started going there about 20 months ago - and they are all women. Our vet is very greyhound savvy, and she doesn't mind if I ask a bunch of questions or have ideas from researching myself. I am never made to feel like I don't know anything just because I haven't been to vet school. And everyone, from the receptionist to the vets and techs to the office manager, are nice and friendly and usually very efficient. The biggest problem I have is finding parking in their small parking lot when they are busy! brindlehound Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I love my vet too. They are conservative when it comes to treatment which saves money. The one doctor doesn't mind if I order Magic's meds from 1-800-Petmeds; one of the other's doesn't like it too much. Like Chris' vet, their parking lot is small when it's busy. Remolacha Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 I love my vet too. She was so supportive with all I went through with Molly. On the Friday after Thanksgiving Molly had a minor bleeding episode and I called my vet to see if I should take her to the e-vet. I got a message that she was unavailable until Monday. By then the bleeding had stopped so I just decided to wait. About thirty minutes later, she called me back from her relatives where she had gone for Thanksgiving. She had seen that I had called and called back to see what was wrong! On her vacation! Then when I emailed her about her availability over the holidays, she said she wasn't going out of town, and if I needed her for Molly to just call, anytime. It made a bad time a little easier. Quote
Patclara Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 More than once, our vet did not charge us when we had to put one of our Greys down due to cancer or old age; and she always asks if we would like to have a consult with another vet and is never put off if we go to another vet (which we usually don't do because she is with up with the best of them ).
