rascalsmom
Phoebe came to us in September, and she was being fed Proplan. We kept her on it, as she likes it, though I think she'd eat ANYTHING . She was on the "Focus large breed", and the most recent bag I bought her was "Savor large breed", which is the shredded blend. She is equally enthusiastic about both. As I said, she'd probably eat anything! I can get Iams large breed, green bag, at Sam's Club, for less money than the Proplan--I think it's 46 pounds for $38.99 or something like that, versus 34 pounds of Proplan for about $45. I am not interested in feeding her a 'high end' food, since she's a good eater, has solid poop, basically an easy keeper. I do, however, want to give her 'decent' food, so is one of these preferable to the other?? Quote Phoebe (Belle's Sweetpea) adopted 9/2/13. cometdust1
Proplan keeps my boy's poops firm and my house "gas" free. Love it!
Hubcitypam
I feed Iams green bag and Purina One in rotation. Barkley seems to tired of one food after a few months so I swap. Rinse and repeat. Poodle eats Natural Balance ultra light. I believe Comfort is in the "will eat anything" camp.
Guest WhiteWave
Pro Plan. I use either the Performance or Sensitive Systems. Never had any luck with Iams with any of my dogs over the years. If you look for deals and online coupons, Pro Plan is not that much. I got a coupon for $5.15 off plus 15% off my total purchase at Petsmart and I ended up paying $32 a bag for Performance and Sensitive which are 2 of the pricier formulas. Could have gotten the big bag of shredded for like a little over $20 since it was on sale for $29.99. Plus once I send in all my weight circles I get my $7 check (coupons) off per bag which can be used with coupons. But i had donated all my circles to a rescue cause they got money to cover a vet bill so I got to save up again.

GeorgeofNE
Whatever she likes and does well on, but "large breed" foods are basically a scam. They put a dab of glucosamine in them and then pretend it's good for big dogs. Quote Susan, Hamish, Mister Bigglesworth and Nikita Stanislav. rascalsmom
She's doing well on the Proplan....sometimes I think if it ain't broke, don't fix it....but the Iams can be had for much less $$. I just signed up for a $5.15 coupon for Proplan, so perhaps it'll be Proplan at least for now. How do you get on the weight circle program with Proplan?? Hubcitypam
For the purina weight circle deal you have to be an "enthusiast" or own five dogs.

krissn333
I jumped off of the ProPlan wagon years ago when it got to be more expensive than a higher end, grain free food, and I could never get the Salmon and Rice in the big bag. They never seemed to carry it anywhere.
