Guest Liz_in_PA
Dash was diagnosed with LS this weekend and is on lots of drugs. This morning, we noticed a temperature difference in that affected leg.Is this an emergency? He is knuckling under a lot more today than yesterday. macoduck
The temperature difference would make me wonder about a clot. Are any of the meds he was given a blood thinner? Coudl it be that the stenosis is hampering circulation of that leg? kudzu
How big of a difference? If it is dramatic I would be concerned about some possible vascular claudication. Was this when he was standing or laying down? If it was standing is it better after his been laying down? Maybe a better question is does the temp difference increase or decrease depending on the position he is in? My guess is that this isn't an emergency but it really depends on the cause. Is there any swelling?
Guest Liz_in_PA
He's been lying down for quite a while. DS and DH both noticed it. They say it seems to have become less noticeable. I don't think the meds are thinners. He tends to lie on the bad leg and maybe that's encouraging the difference.I'm not going to worry today. Too many other things to worry about today. Coudl it be that the stenosis is hampering circulation of that leg? Thrombosis was my first thought. 1/4-1/2 baby aspirin. Won't hurt even if he's already taking an NSAID. DesiRayMom
Boy, do I relate. Desi threw a couple of clots last spring & ended up at OSU for a few days. Scared the heck out of me. Last night, getting ready for bed....I noticed that his rear feet were toasty warm, both front feet were ICE COLD. First thing I thought of......oh no, more clots, even though he's on aspirin therapy. He didn't seem to be in any pain, so I talked my neurotic self into wait & see. This morning, all four feet toasty warm. Don't panic yet. Good thoughts coming. Quote Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog.
