Guest kkaiser104 Posted August 25, 2013 Share Posted August 25, 2013 Several months ago I posted in Watching and Waiting for the first time so I could get help finding out how to preadopt Teddi's littermate. I'd be thinking about it since I brought Teddi home and since Winchester wasn't racing great anymore I knew I didn't have too much time. Sure enough, a few weeks after I preadopted him (officially) Winchester retired. Birmingham is about 10 hours from me and the time just never seemed right--I had to go out of town a few times, I had to settle stuff with my landlord, etc. etc.. Then the truck at McGregor broke and I thought he would never make it here. Two days ago Melony messaged me on facebook and asked if I was ready to get my boy, which of course I answered with a resounding YES and the rest is history! My mom met me in Indy and American Greyhound brought him up on their haul from B'ham. We stayed in a hotel last night so my mom could meet her new granddog and we just got home about 45 minutes ago. He and Teddi are really getting along great and he's a quick study on the ways of retirement (aka the best ways to sleep all of the time). He roached last night and this morning in the hotel room! I have the crate set up until he's house broken, but I imagine it won't be long until he gets to stay out. Littermates are truly special. They just had an instant connection. Not like they knew they were siblings--I doubt that that's the case--but just this deep and strong bond between them. I'm so glad I decided to post in W&W!
