Gapapentin Dosage For Italian Greyhound

Recommended Posts

My Ig has been having back issues. Tramadol helps somewhat. He has been on/off steroids a few times. GABA helps my grey so much. I asked my vet about staring Flex on some. She said the issues is his size. We would have to have it compounded at a pharmacy for him. He is 13 lbs. any suggestions. Also. I wanted to try some arnica gel on his leg. Is that safe for Italian greyhounds as long as he doesn't lick it? He is sensitive to EVERYTHING. He cannot take NSAIDS. Currently favoring right leg.

Thanks for any help!!

Gabapentin also is available in a liquid formula (for kids), but that usually has xylitol added. Since xylitol is toxic to dogs, that needs to be avoided, but it might be possible to get an unsweetened liquid version through a regular pharmacy.
