Guest BiniShew
Hello Everyone! My husband and I just took the leap into adopting a retired racing greyhound! His racing name was B.S. Coaltrain, but we like to call him Coal. He is two years old and 75 pounds of cuddle bug. We adopted him from Friends of Retired Greyhounds here in Colorado, and picked him up from Crowley Correctional Facility (where they have a program where the dogs are taught basic commands and manners). Like a lot of retired racing greyhounds, he had no experience with stairs -- which was a challenge because stairs are unavoidable when going to the backyard. But even on his first night home, he was able to muster up the courage to go up and down and now he is a natural. He was shy at first, but everyday he's been opening up in very noticeable ways, from becoming more playful with our existing dog Oliver, to following us around the house wherever we go...even if it means waking up from a dead sleep to do so Here are some pictures of our boys at the reservoir! Guest BiniShew
Thank you! I noticed you make collars, and our pup could definitely use an upgrade from "county orange". Is there anything that we should be considering when looking at collars (material, sizes, etc)?

Guest saucyalysoon
Gotta love how well he's doing already! Welcome! As for collars, we use a tag collar for around the house and in the yard. We use a martingale for walking on leash. They are addicting!

Maggie and the other GT collar makers have their own threads there and you can see all their wares and ask questions about anything you see that you like. Black dogs look good in any color.
