especially one with a good memory.

 

When we visit my in-laws' farm over the 4th of July holiday, my dog doesn't poop on the acre of mowed lawn where we all spend our time. It started last year. She would go if we walked in the shelter belt, along the gravel road, or in the hay field. She stays leashed to me on a 20' long line the whole time we're up there. Eventually she would just lead me to the road ditch at the end of the driveway when she had to do her business.

 

This year was only different in that she began using the road ditch immediately.

 

The result? I spent an entire week not having to pick up poo.

 

Granted, I did still have to look out for land mines when going barefoot, because the three other dogs there aren't nearly as awesome as mine.
