Just adding my good wishes. It's bad enough to make these kinds of decisions when you have a diagnosis, but not knowing his horrible. We went through mysterious symptoms and no diagnosis with one of our cats and it was such a heartwrenching decision. My heart goes out to you. :grouphug

I have been following you and Neko from the beginning and keep hoping the next test brings you an answer. The coagulation test result sounds like what happens to patients on heparin or bivalrudin. When they are supratherapeutic the PTT results as "unable to detect" meaning that the blood won't clot enough to calculate a value. Have they tried a TEG (thromboelastogram) study? It gives you an idea which part of the coagulation cascade the abnormality is in. The vet hospital may not have it but most human hospitals that do cardiac surgery will have the equipment. Worth a shot. It may at least give you an idea if any blood components would help to boost his clotting and prevent further blood loss while you figure the rest out.

I believe that is what we were using. We ran the tests at a human hospital. They said the only other time that they got that error is when there were microclots in the blood sample so we ran multiple samples and every time got the same error

The OSU to OSU was just a thought. I figured you had already done this yet wanted to throw it out there just in case. I'm sorry they weren't able to help you.

Still keeping keeping you and Neko in my thoughts and prayers. As someone else said, I'm sure you will make the right decision for him.

(((hugs to you both)))

My heart goes out to you. I can fully understand the dilemma... you don't want him to suffer, and yet, you don't want to let him go only to find out "oh... it just needs this drug and everything is good". I don't have any advice to you except to follow your heart and listen to your dog and what he is telling you. You and Neko are both in my thoughts.

I cannot believe this. Poor Neko and you, it's just not fair. I don't have any advice and you have done so much to try and find out what's ailing your boy and still no answers. I truly wish there is something that you stumble upon that helps your boy as he is far too young to be so sick.

My heart is just breaking for your and Neko. I can't imagine all the emotions you must be feeling. Praying and hoping the specialists can come up with a plan so he can start to feel better.

Neko is no longer leaking blood from his anus when hes asleep but he still walks hunched and has blood in his diarrhea. I think it hurts to stand up because I tried to get him up at 3am to let him relieve himself and he absolutely was not going to get up. I couldnt get him up this morning until right now. He didnt eat his dinner last night but he ate his breakfast this morning and is now asleep on the couch... waiting for a call...

I so hope you get a wonderful birthday gift tomorrow..............that they found the problem and it's cureable. This is so unfair, he's only 5. He should be jumping around like a nut. Running full speed. Leaning on you til you fall over.
