Hi Greeta - You're home!..... just get your humans to understand how to be on talking terms with a new dog and you'll all find it runs much more smoothly. 'Lick, yawn and look-away' invites them to respond in kind... it means 'I know how you're feeling with all this new stuff and it's not going to be any problem at all.'

My view this morning.

My view now.

It was a peaceful night and an uneventful meeting. I brought her around the back for her p&p's, which I am grateful she did on leash. Then mama2 brought the rest of the family out. Not even sure why we had everyone on leash! And Greta did seem much more comfortable once she realized there were more like her!

Everyone ate breakfast. She was HUNGRY! Ate every bit! Took a piece of cheese from M2 hands this morning, a cookie from mine last night.

We're all going to lounge around today. Tomorrow I'll take her to be groomed. My groomer is staying late so we'll be the only ones there.

Let's see...

Stairs? Check.

P&P's? Check.

Leash manners? Check.

Knows the door to come in? Check.

FOUND A STUFFY? CHECK!!!!!

And everyone sleeping peacefully now? Check. :)

Oh. And gas??? OMG!!! CHECK CHECK CHECK!!!

Thanks John. You're a doll. We've been doing a lot of looking away. :) We've had a couple of shy ones. And I don't think Greta is going to be shy as much as just taking things slow. And we'll give her all the time she needs!

Oh. Would also like to add that Greta and I slept downstairs alone last night. We have an in law set up with no in law so that's become kind of a dump and store spot for us. We're not really that messy. (blush).

And I am a HORRID photographer. Those were all taken with iPhone and I have a shaky hand!

:confetti WELCOME HOME BEAUTIFUL GRETA :confetti

Holly, she is stunning, shell-shocked but stunning. You may have some competition there, because when she figures it out she may think, he it's all about ME not YOU, but ME!!! BUT you, of all people will understand that. :lol

Welcome home Greta! wavesmile.gif:yay:confettiloveshower.gifhapydancsmil.gif

Congratulations, she is absolutely beautiful! She looks pretty scared for now, which is totally natural of course, it's going to be so awesome to see the difference a few weeks from now! Hopefully she will put on some weight very soon, too.

We are spending a very very very lazy day sleeping. We're finally at a point that I can get up and go to the bathroom without her coming to look for me, but any real movement has her on alert. So today we'll lounge.

I've only gotten her to pee once since I got her last night, that was this morning when we first got up. She p&p'd for me. Then we had breakfast and went out again for another poop. But hasn't gone out again since. Well that's not true, we went out-but she didn't do anything. Except head for the door to come back in, which made me happy because she seems to understand the door to "in" already.

I'm keeping her in a spook harness today, and most likely tomorrow, and trying to lead her out by leash. But she just wants to sleep. So sleep we will. :)

Norm is totally fine with her. Maci's nose is a little out of joint, but I guess that's to be expected. Last Sunday Maci came downstairs with me and snuggled on the couch while I watched TV. I'll try to keep the same routine so she gets a little one on one time.

And my mother now knows and has pretty much disowned me. She just doesn't get the "chip" factor. Oh well. These are the only grandchildren she'll ever have so she best get used to it!

Our families gave us a little of the "Seriously?!?" treatment, too when we adopted number three - and again when we went back to three after we lost Gabe to osteo. But that didn't last long, especially after they'd met the pups. Now the "grandkids," are adored by all. Hope your mother comes around soon.

Lol. She will. When we got our SECOND (Norm) which brought us to 4 dog, her first question was....are you a hoarder?

I'd really like her meet folks like Judy or Pat or Heather and dare ask that question!! (and of course so many more of you. Those are just the names that came to me quick!)
