Guest swindypops
Hi our lovely girl Lola Cola was 2 in July we got her from the rescue on June 24th, we got her after our lovely boy Jim died suddenly on a walk.Well recently she was having probs with Cystitus after 2 urine samples being sent off the vet says its non infection Cystitus she was still not responding to treatment so he had her in last Tues for a XRay under anesthesia. The results are rather strange at first he couldnot locate the bladder it is not where it should be its in her pelvis. I have seen the XRays the prob was also when he injected the contrast to see what was going on and there is something stopping the bladder from filling to full capacity. There is a big area that just wouldnt fill up so now we have been referred to a specialist vet for a ultra sound or cat scan to be done we are going tues coming. Im trying not to worry but if im honest I am rather. I just hope its something that can be sorted out. I asked him if it could be a tumour he said he couldnt rule it out she seems too young but you can never be sure I guess . It could also be something mechanical because of the fact that its not where it should be he said he had never seen anything like it before so fingers crossed for Tues please x

Guest swindypops
I have a bit of an update on Lola Cola she went to the specialist vets yesterday they did an ultrasound but they couldnt see everything cause her urethre is hiden by her pelvis. They wanted her to stay in so they could observe her urinating and to do more tests today, they called me this morn to say that they were going to go straight to putting a camera up so they would have a def view of whats happening , during the morn I got a call from them saying that whilkst they were putting the camera up Lolas bladder ruptured so it then turned into ememrgency surgery to repair the bladder. The vet said that she has never had it happen before. The vet called me after the surgery to let me know that Lola was out of surgery and doing ok but she also said that the hole was so big that it was most prob as a result of the camera she said that Lolas Bladder and urethra were inflammed when they went in and she thinks that too much solution was put in so she was going to talk to the practise manager and that we wont be charged for the surgery. The one good thing they did do was to take biopsies to see whats happening with her bladder and urethra the results should be in next week, she said lola will need surgery prob next year to correct the position of her bladder they didnt want to do it at the same time as repairing the bladder because they did not want to compromise her healing. I have been so worried about her today especially until I knew she was out of surgery .Im hoping to get her tomorrow and I cant wait as long as she reponds well over night and urinates properly we can get her. My poor little girl will be very sore and sorry for herself she has been through it a bit I think.Thankyou for your kind thoughts for my lovely Lola Cola ;]

Guest swindypops
Well I had a call from the vets today saying that Lola was ready for discharge boy was I ever pleased to hear that. We wont know the biopsie results till next weds she is on painkillers and antibiotics and sporting a big bald belly and long dressing, my poor girl is feeling very sorry for herself and is a bit wobbbly. Her appetite hasnt suffered though so thats more like her normal self. She is getting plenty of cuddles and she needs to urinate fairly regularly but thats no different to what was happening before. Fingers crossed that whatever is causing her probs is treatable with meds the vets said she may need an op next year if she doesnt respond to medical treatment, if she needs any pending biopsie results. Guest swindypops
Lola is doing ok she is having lots of accidents around the house so I have bought some puppy pads which look rather fetching littered around the place ! We should get her biopsy results tomorow so we will at least know what we are dealing with she is def glad to be home, I just feel very sorry for her that we took her to the vets to get her better but she ended up going through the mil.l still hopefully she will be feeling much better soon ill post once we get the results tomorrow ,thankyou for your kindness
Guest OurLacyandJax
Healing thoughts for you and Lola Cola! Accidents in the house can be a pain - but the pads should do the trick. Sad she had to go through all that, but it happens..As long as she heals well, and the biopsy comes clean..
Batmom
Glad to hear she is hanging in there. You too. Hopefully the accidents will taper off as she heals and the biopsy will show nothing evil at all. Guest swindypops
An update on Lola Cola the vets says its def cystitus they are trying her on anti biotics for 3 weeks although there is no sign of bacteria. If she doesnt responds to that then she will have a course of different tablets the vet said that if she doesnt respond to that then they will look at an op to re position her bladder as that could be causing the problems she is having. She did say that even if she did respond to the second course of tabs she will still prob need an op at some point in her future. On the up side its nothing to worry about our litttle girl is going to be ok thats all that counts we can cope with accidents they are only little drips.Thankyou for all your kind thoughts this is a really good forum . :beatheart

TwiggysMom
Wonderful news - you must be thrilled! I'm sure you weren't hoping for her to need an operation down the road, but it sounds like the vets are confident she will be able to have a happy & healthy life!
