Hubcitypam
In another thread I wrote So far Buddy hasnt needed any bloodwork done, but I'm totally convinced that some random thing will happen in the next two months that will require it before his one year anniversary. Boy, did I jinx myself!!! Just got back from the vet. Buddy screamed twice last night and once this morning when I rubbed his ears/neck on the right side. Turns out he has a very swollen lymph node under his right jaw. He got a shot of Baytril and two steroids plus a script for Cipro. Scary thing is we dont know why it is so swollen. Nothing wrong in his mouth as far as the vet can tell and it is exactly one year since his last dental. He had a collision with something chasing the shar pei foster a couple of weeks ago and had a since healed owie on his chest. Vet said there might be an outside chance he fractured his jaw but let's wait and see before doing x-rays.

Sambuca
Poor guy. Last year a couple days before Thanksgiving, Sailors muzzle swelled up on the left side. My vet put him on benedryl, but couldn't find anything wrong. No bites, no dental problems, no wounds, no pain, nothing. Thankfully it went away, but we never figured it out. I had that happen to a foster after Frontline Plus. He was fine with the regular but not the Plus. Well, now if anyone sends me an Anthrax letter I've plenty of Cipro on hand..... Hubcitypam
He is not quite right, but OK. I am avoiding petting or touching him near that lymph node. His dose of Cipro is scary to me, but we'll see.
