Guest HoundWorks
Has anyone experienced pimples/welts (puss filled) appearing on the crouch area of their hound? We noticed two on Dex the other day and since then they turned into open sores and more of these puss filled pimples have appeared and are turning into sores. They are on the inside of his legs and around his genitals, but not further up on his tummy... Any ideas on what it could be before I take him into the vet? We weren't too concerned when it was just the two... but now that more are appearing and turning into sores I think a trip to the vet is in order. greyhead
I don't know what it is, but it sounds infectious, and a trip to the vet sounds very much in order ASAP. I hate to think of him licking the area and getting even sicker. Good luck. TheFullHouse
Could be a staph infection. I'd see the vet. tbhounds
Could be a staph infection. I'd see the vet. Yup-sounds like staph. Need antibiotics and +/- medicated shampoo

Guest HoundWorks
Thank you all! We will be definitely be heading to the vet for this. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it or licking it which is good, but it's concerning how a whole bunch seemed to pop up overnight. I'll be sure to let you know what the vet says.
