greysmom Posted October 6, 2012 Share Posted October 6, 2012 We lost our old man on Wednesday. Very suddenly and quite unexpectedly. We miss him so much! He came to us on Memorial Day Weekend in 2006, at 5 years old. He was a part of the tremendous effort by the folks in Texas to rescue dogs left stranded at the track in Juarez Mexico. Copper was our third greyhound and third foster (we only had one successfully leave our house! ) and Copper was only a foster for about a week. He was skinny and his coat was horrible and his mouth was a cesspool even after a dental. He was recovering from a cryptorchid neutering surgery and was pretty pathetic all in all. He still won our hearts over very quickly! Copper only knew Spanish those first few weeks. Our next door neighbors were having their roof re-done, and Copper spent many hours outside listening to the Latinos working up there talking and playing music. I finally asked a friend of mine whose family had migrant workers in their landscaping business some words so he would listen to me! He discovered toys and loved to play! Our Copper was always a happy bouncy boy! Oh how we miss him! I can't post pics because Webshots is screwed up. I'll try and put some in when I can.
