Guest PhillyPups
Thinking of you and Lydia. Yes it is in knowing our dogs that we can sense something a bit "off", but as so many of us have learned, the bit "off" can also be nothing more than an "off" day which I think we all get especially as we get a bit older. to one of the best DogMoms I know

silverfish
FWIW, I've had a couple of my old girls act like this. It's been pain/stiffness--a sore neck, a sore leg, a weak back end. Sometimes what seems to be confusion is hesitation to do something that's uncomfortable. This was my thought, too. I hope it's just that, and it probably is, especially now she seems fine! I know what you mean, too. I've been through a tough time with Sid recently and actually thought I was going to lose him because he was acting SO unlike himself - almost paranoid as well as in pain. Turned out the painkiller the vets gave him after his tooth extraction didn't suit him at all, but there were several things going on, poor guy. I don't want to admit it, but I think his Pets As Therapy visiting days might be over. It's very hard to accept them getting older and less able, isn't it?
