I have been posting about Missy with her LS and increased lameness the day after adaquan shot. when she was at the vet for the shot, she checked her corn on her right leg that was hulled the week before. She said it was healing up..she has a history of corns as well. have been doing the hulling. Anyway, it just dawned on me>...that she is acting like her corn is real bad again. BUT it seemed to happen overnite. no limping on right on Thursday when vet looked at it..to lameness friday morning. Can a corn get worse that FAST? my vet is very knowledgeable in regards to corns. she didn't feel it was necessary to hull again so soon.

when she is on the back grass she wants to run..the minute she gets to hard surface she is limping. so classic of her corns. I don't have a thera paw to try out..but she hates boots. that would help rule it out.

I had emailed my vet as she is off today and monday. she so kindly responded. she has had dogs get tender at the injection point but not lame. she suggested resting her a couple more days, continue with all her meds. I did not think of the corn issue until after she responded. Not wanting to bother her again on her time off, I will wait until Tuesday.

Just looking for input! Thanks!

Good on grass, limping on hard surface sounds exactly like corns. And it's possible that she's putting her weight down differently thanks to her shot, so that she's reacting more to the corn. Missy also could be developing a second corn on the same foot, so that your vet is looking at the improving corn and not seeing the second corn. My corn dog seems to limp one day, and not the next, and it often depends on which corny foot (she has two) is giving her the most grief.
