Generic Rimadyl Or Where Do You Buy?

Now that it looks like we will be on Rimadyl for a while here, can anyone share where they buy theirs? Does anyone have experience with generic? I am out of town on family medical emergency and Vinnie is running out at home (with fiancé). We last paid $27 for one weeks worth, we thought we'd have found another source by the time we needed more and then this family matter popped up.

Too much unnecessary info, I'm sure... I'm overtired. =)

Thank you!

The generic is Vetprofen. Our old Rx shows 75mg every 12 hours with food.

I think there is also another generic version named Novox.

Check with your local Target or Walmart phamacy and see if they are carrying it. If so, your vet can write an Rx for it.

Novox or Carprofen. We get the 75mg. 180 ct. In 2010, I could get it from on-line sources for ~$75. My Vet matched the price so I got it from them. The last time I got a refill from the Vet, the tech changed my husband ~$158. I checked the online sources and that's close to what they are now too.

Check Costco too--they recently started carrying a whole line of pet prescriptions, and they allow non-members to purchase prescriptions.

We use carprofen/Novox here. i have ordered it online and got a decent price (i am sorry but i can't remember specifically where) after searching for online coupons to the website. Without the coupon my vet basically would match the price if i bought a higher volume.

Last time I checked (>6mo ago) the human pharmacies don't order it since it isn't a human med.

There is a natural alternative for Rimadyl.

Yucca Intensive. There are no side effects.

I've used it successfully instead of Rimadyl and Deramaxx. I know many people who were able to transition their dogs from NSAIDs to Yucca.

If using NSAIDs or Steroids, I'd get blood work done before giving the drugs. And i'd get blood work done regularly - depending on age and condition of the dog.

I'd also support the liver and kidney with a milk thistle product. I like Kidney & Liver Support. It's a tincture. just a few drops daily in food..

Just got a refill fromthevet. 75 mg 180 ct carprofen was $106.50.

I saw Costco's ad about pet meds too but their web site claimed the didn't carry carprofen or soloxine. Perhaps their web site hasn't been updated.

Hmm, I just got a year's supply of Soloxine from my Costco--have you tried calling the local store?
