JoanBelleIsle
I remember reading something about a nutrition issue that shows up as a greasy coat and flakey skin. Does anyone know what the problem is? One of my dogs who is otherwise healthy has a greasy patch on his back and I can't figure out what's going on. Thanks
tbhounds
May have seborrheic dermatitis. Bathing frequently with an anti seborrheic shampoo should help.
Guest LindsaySF
It's called seborrhea and there could be many causes. In some dogs there is a genetic predisposition (we had Chows growing up, they are prone to it). If it's paired with other symptoms (excessive drinking, urination, digestive issues, etc) then it could be a metabolic disorder and I'd run some bloodwork. Good luck.
