dmswartzfager Posted February 14, 2012 Share Posted February 14, 2012 I called for an update this morning, since it was later than I was expecting to hear from the surgeons, and the tech said, "oh, she can go home." That was the extent of my update. She walked into the exam room unassisted and stood there while we went over the information with her surgeon, and then maneuvered herself pretty well out of the place... and was pretty happy to see the van. I had changed the van seats such that the back bench seat was set up, so that's where Brian sat, so he could keep an eye on Symbra. About halfway home, she was trying to get up on the seat with him. He managed to keep her off and on the floor. She was very very happy to see our front door and practically pulled us inside. She settled in on her bed in the "food room" - it's one of her safe places in our house. We got her to eat about 2/3 a small can of the Recovery food after she napped for a bit, then she decided she really wanted up on the couch, so that's where she is right now - she got herself up. The surgeon said the biopsy results might be back by the time her staples need to come out, but he said of course, given that she's a grey with a pathologic fracture - it's almost certainly osteo. Well, we just take one day at a time. It's good to have her home, and see her snoozing away on the other end of my couch. It's somewhat of a panicky yet carefully calculated maneuver. She was fine, I was having a heart attack The loveseat has always been HER spot though, so that's where she was happy So glad to hear that she ate too! Atta girl! MP_the4pack Posted February 14, 2012 Share Posted February 14, 2012 That's the one thing I found out about Diamond. She was ready to go back to normal without having really learned to be a tripod. So what Symbra. She just might take off on you or try to do stairs or jump on/off furniture without you there. I'm glad she's home. That's the best place to heal.
