Guest Geostar
Years ago, when we began fostering greyhounds, I decided that I'd better find some type of reference to 'fall back' upon if a problem arose. I found this book by Stanley Coren, who has unlocked the hidden secrets of the hidden language of dogs. He draws these conclusions through years of experience, evoluntionary biology, and animal behavior. Problems like scratching in the dirt after going potty, or growling are discussed in this book. It has helped me understand how all dogs think...including greyhounds. Hope this helps.. -star PS: How to Speak Dog by Stanley Coren
silverfish
Completely agree. I'd put this book into the hands of every single dog owner on the planet, if I could, and make it required reading. I often recommend it. It's a GREAT primer on dog social behaviour! I don't see why scratching in the dirt should be classified as a problem behaviour though. It's perfectly natural. Guest Geostar
True..but, to some people who don't know, it is a problem. The dog is just strutting..LOL
silverfish
Sid even does it with only one back leg. He kicks up so powerfully that divots go flying. I just move him to one side so they don't hit me in the ear while I pick up.
