2_Lazygreys Posted June 26, 2011 Share Posted June 26, 2011 Gypsy 10/01/2000-06/19/2011 She passed peacefully after a brave battle with two types of cancer…Osteo being the one that actually took her to her next phase in life. I had to set her free from her pain. I promised both of my kids from day one I would never let them suffer. My mantra for the last month has been “NO REGRETS and I would rather do it to soon than too late”. There are way too many things to say about her; she was my Monster, Big Girl, Little Girl, Sugar Booger…she had so many names and knew EVERY one of them. All I had to do was look at her and she was happy. She was totally a “daddy’s girl” and followed me around everywhere. She was my greeter when I got home every day from the office or even when I had stepped outside to take the trash out, it didn’t matter she was just happy to see me. I remember the day I talked to Jim at Grounds Unlimited that I wanted a second grey to help my first grey (Red Dawn) help adjust…he is a big 85 pound guy that was scared of everything. The day I brought her home a little 60 pound stinky bundle of joy (Jim wanted to give her a bath and I told him “I love her the way she was” he just laughed). It wasn’t until Gypsy walked in the door that Red even knew how to be the spoiled rotten guy that he is today (go figure). She wasn’t even fostered and knew how everything worked; potty outside, my bed, and where the treats were etc. I also would have sworn she had been a broad mom by the way she would correct Red when he got “out of control” or how she protected him from all of those scary things that bothered him. She would have been a great mother! She also love to run even though she wasn’t great at it…it didn’t matter she would just smile and was so proud of herself when she did it. I also miss when I would sit at the computer she would walk under it so I could scratch her butt and would just look like she was in heaven and do the “wiggle butt dance”. Sorry I have rambled on and I am sure this makes no sense…I just wanted to post something in her memory. I have had great support from my family, friends, coworkers, and GU.
