we have had riley for 2 1/2 yrs. she has always slept in my room in her crate. for the last 2 nights about 1 or 2 in the morning she has started to whine. i get up to see if she needs a potty break but she heads to her bed in the living room and sleeps there the rest of the night. any thoughts? this is totally new behavior.

Sounds as if she is feeling too cold, or too hot, in your room. Either that or your snoring is disturbing her beauty sleep! :lol
