Guest mattbta
Howdy. We've got two greys and an iggy. Lately the iggy has troubles with his boy part - the tip never seems to retract. We've been able to use vaseline to remedy but the issue is becoming more regular. He was neutered before we got him, so I'm not sure why he's getting so easily excited. Is this cause for concern? Any advice? Cheers, -Matt
Guest greytbookert
our Eric (greyhound) has been having boy part issues as well. one time he actually ended up having a sheath infection, which cleared up with 2x daily flushing and a course of antibiotics. However, he still has episodes, which we have yet to figure out why. He is almost 12 years old and has been neutered since he was about 4. Many exams have ruled out a wide variety of items including no issues with his prostate, urinary tract problems. He doesn't seem bothered by it and there are no other symptoms, so we have not pursued further testing, which could be pretty invasive and/or upsetting to him. Have you been to the vet yet? there could be foreign body in there, like a piece of dirt or fur which is preventing the ability to retract. You do need to be careful that the blood supply is not cut off to the area. You can tell by the coloring of the prepuce. If the coloring looks wonky, you should seek medical attention. Good luck!
