It is with huge tears and sadness that I announce that Powie, my Queen who I adopted at age 11.5 years of age, has passed away tonight.

Mommy and the Krewe miss you already, the house will never be the same without your strict ruling over the Krewe.

Fly and run free my Queen, I love you and miss you terribly.

My deepest sympathy.:grouphug My Queen Aggie that I adopted at 11 just crossed over Saturday- I hope Powie & Aggie find each other! The vet told me that most recently a very unusual high number of the older seniors who had never had any significant issues have been crossing over. I know how you feel. When you are blessed with one of the oldies you find love so strong that it is more powerful than if you'd had them since they were a pup!

Run free Queen Powie! Run free fast happy & healthy! You won! You crossed over a beloved pet- a Queen!- who will never be forgotten and will be loved always! And you might look up Queen Aggie. She just arrived up there too. She'll be with a "tough guy" named Slim that helped her transition and was waiting for her. He is a great protector and will protect and care for both of you.

Thank you everyone. It was a very rough night last night. I don't think today will be any easier.

Powie is/was an amazing girl. She made it to her 14th birthday in August and the end of this month would have been her 3rd gotcha date...but she will forever be home!

When I learned of Powie being available through our group, she was not in the best of health and was informed that I most likely wouldn't have her for a long period of time, maybe 6 months. Well, this girl blossomed and flourished in our home and lived for 3 more years. Powie was spoiled and pampered like a Queen should be and she enjoyed every moment of it...especially when I bought her, her throne, that she slept in religiously. Since Powie's passing, none of the others dogs have even tried to enter Powie's throne...I am thinking it is out of respect and love. It amazes me that the Krewe knows and have taken it upon themselves to honor Powie like this.

I know Powie is pain free now, but I just want to be selfish and have her back home! I miss my velvet eared powder butt girl.

Thank you again everyone for you kind and caring words....this is an amazing group of people!

So sorry for your loss. Oh...I don't think it is selfish to want her back home..it is just that emptiness is just overwhelming. Hoping you find peace....
