It’s hard to grasp the fact that you are gone and I so wish that I could have had more time with you. But I couldn’t have you here in pain, scared and confused. I hope you understand why I had to let you go. I remember the day we met. This picture says it all. Our first days were exciting, crazy and fun. You were so curious about life. Everything was worth screaming about and talking about. I loved watching you learn about the world. Your energy and excitement over even the little things made me more aware of life and appreciate even the little things. You were a funny mix of appearing so outgoing but having a constant need to be comforted. I love this picture of your first night home. You would explore but had to come back crashing into me to make sure things were still secure. It made me feel so special that you put your trust in me. I miss so much about you. You were such a silly guy. I promised to take care of your plastic family and I have. I miss seeing them scattered throughout the yard and tripping over them in the kitchen. I miss being able to cuddle with you at night and your paws poking me in the back. I miss you with Ave and the supersonic energy that was created from this combination. Mostly I miss the cuddling, you looking out for me and making me feel like I am the most important person in the world. I miss seeing you on the window seat so excited to see me come home and hearing your rooing even before I could get to the door. I am so fortunate to have had you in my life. So the day came and we must now travel different paths. I hope you are going after this journey with the energy and excitement that you showed when you began your journey with me. Be brave and know that you are more than missed. It’s okay to be scared and to wonder where I am. I am with you, hugging you, holding you and protecting you. I’m just in a different place doing this. I know it may feel scary and strange as you work your way through your new world but it’s okay. You will be okay. We will both be okay.
