Vegas hurt his leg this weekend and we took him to the vet, I initially thought he had broke it. The Vet took a look and says he didnt think it was broken but he did say something wasnt right, he sent us home and asked me to make sure he took some medicam to help and we are to bring him back first thing monday morning for X-rays. He warned me that these guys are prone to cancer (like i didnt know that already and i know we have ben lucky so far) and because of where the issue is and how he hurt himself (things didnt add up) he wants to make sure everything is checked out.

There is a very large lump and a lot of swelling and he is still favoring his leg and is tripoding often. :cry1:sad1:cry1

Please keep Vegas in your thoughts and im hoping this all turns out to be a simple running injury

*************UPDATE**************

There are NO signs of Cancer!!!! :yay:confetti

the vet says its a soft tissue injury, he pulled some stuff pretty good and he is to take some pain meds and try to stay off it. We are to re-check in a month and sooner if things dont improve. The only thing he did see is the begining sighs of arthritis (only a tiny amount).

I swear once a year he gives us good scare over something

Even the thought of my Boy being sick really had me pretty upset.Thank you to everyone for the support and good thoughts we really appriciate it.

I would have posted sooner but the foster pups ended up at the E-Vet last night, they had a reaction to the de-wormer.... they are fine and back home now and just need a bland diet to help settle everything inside.

You have my prayers.

If the vet didn't do an x-ray, how does he know it isn't broken? Not that I want Vegas to have broken leg, but...........it's a better option. Hoping and praying that its something else.

He didnt say it wasnt broken, he said most likely it is not ( he has been a vet over 30 years and i trust him). where the injury happened it was very easy to manipultae and get a good feel. we have kept him off his feet and medicated and they will make sure they check everything over really well in the morning ( he has a 7:30am appt)

I have dropped Vegas off at the vet, he went for being pretty good to a huge suck in a instant for the vet tech. I handed the leash over to her and he started to head into the back on his own (it's like he knows what to do at the vets office).

Anyways I am really hope he is going to be ok, I know his mommy loves him so much, and will do anything for him, he is her 'doggy man'. We love you buddy and I know your going to pull thru this ok.

Sending lots of good thoughts :candle

(I'm amazed about the vet making him wait until today though, to do an xray. I can't imagine why a vet wouldn't do the xray immediately regardless of the day of the week).
