Guest mhall
Last September 24th we drove to the vet with heavy hearts and said goodbye to our sweet Tarmac. Here's his original remembrance thread, for anyone interested. Tarmac was our first dog. He was a special challenge for clueless newbies - we worked through space and food aggression, fear of anything and everything outside and a penchant for peeing on our bed after coming in from a long walk. The time and patience invested in working with him were rewarded a thousandfold - eventually his anxiety over being in a new space with new people evaporated away and he became an amazing creature. For three years he was my constant companion. He said goodbye to me at the door when I left for work, and he would be watching from the back window when I came up the driveway each afternoon. He was always at my side in the house, and while an exciting smell or sight might pique his interest outside, he would frequently stop and look back to make sure I was right behind him. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I still expect to see him staring down at me expectantly. We have two new greyhounds now who I love dearly, but my big, black, sometimes grumpy, always goofy first greyhound love will always have a special place in my heart. I miss you bud.
