NeylasMom Posted September 23, 2010 Share Posted September 23, 2010 (edited) Neyla passed her 4 month post-osteo dx anniversary about a week ago. We scheduled an ortho appt to get a new x-ray and to also investigate some other issues she's having and the verdict is: Her new x-ray showed no significant progression!!! It does appear like she may be in the early stages of LS, but her spine x-ray was nearly pristine so we are going to continue to use chiro and add in acupuncture to manage her stiffness/soreness from that and her bad back leg (not her osteo leg) and otherwise carry on as we have been. He suggested more hikes and walking on hills and in water if we can to build the muscle back up in her back leg. I don't want to pursue actual PT because she gets really nervous at the vet's so we'll just do what we can. Overall she's doing amazingly well. We vary b/w short walks and hikes of up to nearly 2 miles and she runs and plays with toys inside regularly. She has a great appetite as always and is just her normal happy self most of the time. I'm so grateful!! <--ETA: This is my range of emotions - relief, joy, a little why me, but mostly overwhelming happiness that we have made it this far. I never thought we'd make it past 3 months, let alone be doing this great at 4. In case that wasn't clear.
