Please Spare A Thought For Jaxie

I will be calling the vet first thing tomorrow morning. Jaxie has been getting progressively weaker over the past week, and I think he's telling me his time is coming up :( He's still been eating, drinking and going out ok for most of the week, but since Friday, he's having a harder and harder time just getting up, I've had to help him most times, and he soiled himself and his bedding last night. He turned 14 in April, and has done ok for the most part, other than being skinny, but he has been for the last 2 years. The vet still gave him a clean bill of health though, and actually said that with his age, less weight was better, as it put less stress on his bones getting around. I've been dreading this moment for a while now, but I think to do right by him, if the vet thinks so, I'll have to let him go within the next few days. I'm in tears typing this, but if anyone understands, you guys will.

Sending my love to you and Jaxie. I hope there's something to fix, but, if not, I hope his passing is full of grace and dignity.

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." -- Unknown
