Guest Gretchen
Just wondering what everyone thinks about the lyme vaccination. Since i'm in CT, lyme is a big concern for pets. Just not sure in about in greyhounds. Thoughts...
Guest UESBrindle
We live in CT and William has had the vaccine. I figure he can get lyme just like any other dog,so we also give frontline for ticks and do a body check after we go for walks in wooded areas. Guest Gretchen
We use frontline as well, and do tick checks like it's our job The ticks have been awful this year in CT, thankfully my two haven't had any hitch a ride. But I worry.

PatricksMom
I give it, never had a problem with the vaccine or lymes. But it can interfere with lymes testing (although greyhounds often get false positives anyway, or so I've heard) and isn't 100% effective. Trudy
When I was in NY we talked to the vet about the Lyme vac. Neither of us thought it useful at the time. And now, at 11, both J&R are done with anything that isn't absolutely mandatory.
MaryJane
I'm in Mass and Lyme disease is a pretty big issue in this area according to the vets. Rather than chance it, I've decided to give my dogs the vaccine this year. So far I haven't seen any adverse reactions from my boy who got his first one two weeks ago. I haven't used a flea or tick preventative so far this year but, do checks for ticks on a daily basis. I'm glad that you asked this because I'm curious to hear what other people say about this.
