Guest Berylsmum
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and have just adopted a wonderful ex racing greyhound (Beryl). She doesn't have any health problems, thankfully. But she does have a bald area under her neck where her previous collar wore the hair off, also a couple of small areas behind her ears where the collar rubbed. And on each thigh she has a fairly small bald area, but not the whole 'bald thigh' thing:-) I'm just wondering if the hair is likely to grow back in those places? They don't spoil her gorgeousness at all:-) Thank you, Sue
Guest Greytluv
I would think so. Congrats on your new girl and welcome to GT
Guest 4dogscrazy
It should grow back, with soft beds to lay on. I have read on here that Melatonin will help re-grow hair, and that it works for some dogs. Hopefully, someone who used it will chime in with the facts, as I have never used it myself! Congratulations and welcome!
Guest TeddysMom
When Spice came here from FL, she had horrible baldness from flea allergies. Thanks to someone on GT, I started giving her 3mg of Melatonin everyday and she now has a nice hair covering back on all the bald spots, even her butt that was really bald. As a result of that, I put two other non-grays on it and their hair is also comming back in, I swear by it now.
ahicks51
Provided they're not scars- usually from when they're pups on the farm, I gather- the fur grows back very nicely. Quote Coco (Maze Cocodrillo) Minerva (Kid's Snipper)

Guest Berylsmum
Thank you all for your replies. I'll see if we can get Melatonin here. Cheers
Guest PhillyPups
I found with time that the hair does grow back. DonnieDude came with a bald butt, now his butt hairs are feathery.
