Guest Energy11 Posted March 19, 2010 Share Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) I just want to thank everyone for there kind thoughts in Guy's passing. I adopted Guy 9 1/2 years ago and he was 11 1/2 years ago. Guy was a bounce back, out of the kennel, foster home and a home. I saw first saw Guy at a reunion in WI. As I walk by I saw this beautiful brindle greyhound with a black muzzle. Guy had put his ears up and looked at me as I walk by him. I fell in love! I was told he was greyt with fast cats by the 2nd foster family. The 1st foster family gave up. After the event I was told there was a problem with Guy. I was very concerned, until I was told he was very much a puppy. I thought not problem a walk or two should help. I did not find an OFF switch on Guy for six months. I know many of my friends thought I would not make it through the first year with Guy! LOL After the first year I adopted Guy, I knew the ER vets by the first name. I called the poison control hotline twice. Guy thought he was super dog and tried to leap the entire deck in one shot. He chewed up my bed. Guy would fetch balls. He also would buck and spin on a lead or head first flips. We also lost a few meals. He would air snap behind me and yes he did manage to nip me in the butt a couple of times. Guy had such a big toothy smile. I thought my spook dog Melanie at the time would have a melt down but she joined in the fun. I wanted a "out" going greyhound to help her. I never expected a total fuzzy nutball! Guy just one happy dog and loves everyone! He will also put a smile on my face! Guy just one happy dog and loves everyone! I will miss my fuzzy man very much! I just want to thank everyone for there support! Guy has joined Melanie at the bridge along with my other fur angels. Lynette & furkids P.S. Lynette and Ron wanted everyone to know, they donated some of Guy's DNA for the OSU Cancer Study. hoping to stop this HORRIBLE cancer in Greys and other dogs. Curfew, very much a spook at that time, would not come out of the hotel room ... he hid between the beds. Lynette offered some kind words for us, and that is how we met. I have know them, and been close friends with them ever since. I love all of their dogs, but Guy was truly my favorite! He was soo outgoing, big, fluffy and loving. How could you NOT love him? :-) I feel this boy had THE BEST home he could have ever wished for, and he was lucky to be picked by two such loving people! God Speed the Fuzzy Man ... Especially the ones that were always in the way, in the face, into everything. They leave the loudest silence, the most deafening quiet.
