This is exactly what happened to my first hound Carly. Only we we out walking and a half a mile from home. Thx goodness there are nice people out there who stopped and help us. I know just how scary the feeling it was for you. Like you there was no real warnings and I also thought she was chocking because of the foaming. I still really do not know the cause but the pain of the loss is the same and still gets me almost 2 year later.
