milosdriver
Quick question- is the Pepcid AC that you buy at the drugstore the same as the famotadine that the vet gives? What dosage do people give their hounds? Thanks.
Batmom
Yes, famotidine is the generic -- exactly the same thing . 1 regular strength Pepcid = 10mg famotidine. The Walgreen's version is usually called "Acid Controller." I usually give 10mg twice a day. You can give more, but might want to consult your vet about that. Guest zoolaine
Sunny is on 20mg once a day, which was prescribed by his vet. I get the Costco brand.
Guest Energy11
Yes, it is the same thing, Wal-mart brand calls it Acid Controller and it's generic is Famotidine. You can get either 10 or 20 mgs. I use the 10mg for Curfew, as I give (1) twice daily, and the 20 mg on Goldie, as I give it with her Deramaxx. The generics are a GREAT buy! DH is going to Wal-mart tomorrow (*I HATE that place)!!!, to get more of the 10 mg, and some generic Gas-X, too.
