Lots of prayers & we come against anything starting with a C unless its just she's so darn cute her toe hurts.

It could very well be funky toe disease, my first grey...her toe swelled up, he amputated & sent it off...just a nail infection. She never missed it. Then Brogan, my blue boy, he had a bad toe, amputated it, sent it off, all was fine, he never noticed it was gone until he went to flip one of the dogs off & then he came up blank.

We will not have any C diseases!!!

I just wanted to thank you for "speaking up" about palliative care. I've read it in many of your posts, and that is the road Perry and I have been going down the last 3 months.

I, personally, feel amputation is a very very personal decision, and I am NOT against it. I think it depends on each individual and their dog/cat. Whether we go with just palliative care or we go with amputations, it is what WE think is best for those pets we love, making it, a VERY personal decision.

I am glad Perry is still with you after three months, as well. Perry will let YOU know when it is "time." Sending love to you both! Dee

Well, I don't know if it is all the prayers and good thoughts, the Deramaxx, or a combo of both, but she seems GREYT today!! I am still very concerned about the swollen toe and the "knot" on the outisde of the bone, just above her foot. It is a rare location for OS, but dogs can get OS of the toes, feet, and lower bones, not just the larger bones of the legs, and the axial skeleton.

For the time being, I am HOPING for Arthritis, as she is the right age for it, and it too, causes deformaties of the toes, etc., AND, most importantly, how WELL she is responding to the Deramaxx. I do need to get the x-rays done, to be SURE of course. **Just hope she does better than she did last time with the sedation! Takes her a LONG time to come out of it, and she us usually incontinent of urine, poor girl :-(

She sleeps next to me, (I sleep on the floor, dogs have the daybed :-)) I have a nice foam mattress now, though :-)) Goldie actually HOLDS HANDS with me! I love that! I am surrounded by greyhounds at night! DOESN'T get any better! Staggerlee sleeps with DH, and they share the pillows!

Thanks, all of you, for caring, and your good thoughts and prayers! Please keep them coming! Love you! Dee and, of course Miss Tapmar Goldie!

Awwwwww....Wilbur would hold hands with me. If I moved my arm away, he would paw at me until I held it again and rubbed the bottom of his foot between his paw pads.
