Guest mpportraits
Okay, I kind of addressed this in another topic but in this one I'm curious about what your greys do. Phoebe rolls in dead stuff and poo alllllll summer!!! Why do they do this???? Does your grey do it? What exactly do your roll in?? Any suggestions on how to make it stop? Dreading summer for this and only this reason
Guest Greytluv
My Greyhounds don't do this. I used to have a Brittany and Springer that did. I heard it was to cover their scent It was gross, tho
Guest Greyt_dog_lover
It is preditor behavior, they are coverent their scent with their prey's fecies so that they are more difficult to detect. Do your hounds know the "leave it" command? If so, you have to watch them and tell them to "leave it" when they smell it. If they dont, then you need to pick up the rabbit poo and other animal's poo before your hounds get out there.
Guest kydie
Yep. a way to mask their own smell, my grey doesn't do this, but all our hunters did, until trained not to, but they still think skunks are BIG FUN
jenn8
I had to apologize to the vet when I dropped Bug off for his dental. He had just finished smooshing his face all over this dead bird at the park. His scent was definitely covered. Jenn
