Guest Liz_in_PA
Bonnie and Dash get chicken quarters in the evening. They eat outside and they insist upon eating outside. I tried to get them to eat in the kitchen one night when it was really cold and they freaked. We stayed in a hotel and they insisted on going outside to eat there. On leashes. Yeah, that weirds out people. The backyard is partially covered in straw because of mud. Bonnie seems to intentionally roll her dinner in the straw. She has thrown up the straw once or twice (at 6:30 am, just what you want to wake to.) I'm seeing the straw in the poops. Is this a problem? Will it plug them? Guest Energy11
Well, Goldie is a HUGE poop eater, and we have straw in our outside turnout pen. Even though we are always right there when they all poop, Goldie ALWAYS finds some poop to eat, and yes, it has straw in it! She poops out straw every now and then, and seems fine, so I honestly wouldn't worry unless she is consuming large amounts of it. Pretty weird how they want to eat their chicken outside. Maybe trying to keep their homes clean? :-) Mine don't eat raw, but as I said, Goldie WILL find EVERY piece of poop we miss! Good Luck! JAJ2010
I don't think it's going to be digestible in any way but it should pass w/o any issues I would think. Unless they sat there eating a whole bale of it! Quote ------ Jessica
