Guest FullMetalFrank Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 So I took Frank to class today to be a visual aid for some basic examining techniques; we were doing a simple neurological exam when it was discovered that Frank has some difficulties with his right rear leg. I have noticed it for some time that when we walk further than usual, he will begin to drag his foot ever so slightly every few steps. Well, he failed the test for righting his foot when the Dr. placed it upside down... She discussed the possibility that he may have some slight impingement on his spinal cord; maybe disc disease or some other cause. It isn't serious; and he is still quite mobile and for the most part pain free; but it is something we will be getting looked at (x-rays) soon. The Dr. mentioned Adequan as being a popular treatment, and something we might try, as well as some form of physical therapy. Frank is 10 and this is probably related to old age wear and tear but I want him to be as comfortable as possible going into old age. Quote
ShantisMom Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 We tried it with Shanti. A series of 8 shots. It did not do anything for her. I have heard it does wonders for some though. Quote The Girls
