As some of you remember Greta & Vern, Greta rescued from a Coyote hunting ranch, and Vern who came from Des Moines (one of Donna Lovelys dogs)who had seizures last year. To highlight, this time last year, Vern got his teeth cleaned & had a difficult time with his anesthesia. The next day he had a series of Grand Mal seizures. (Our assumption was the vet "who we fired" screwed up & was not as well versed in Greyhounds as he let on).. So Vern has been on a low dose Phenobarbital twice a day since then & has been seizure free. He just has his check up & they found slightly elevated enzymes in his urine. We now have him on Hills K/D formula. Vern new to this condition, but the vet does not seemed worried- but we are.. We will test him in another month & see how the enzymes are. If they have increased allot, well I think we know what that means.. We are hopeful that they have either stayed the same or gone back to normal. Naturally I will keep the results posted here.. Since he & Greta are both 7-8 years old, the vet said it would be fine of Greta ate the same food. I dont know how the K/D will affect her as "being normal".. On a good note, Greta went to the groomer & got her teeth brushed.. Vern stayed home & ate a Greenie (didnt want to stress him out at the groomer)..Bill Edited January 23, 2010 by Geesh Quote
