This Is Why I Hate To Go Away

I was out of town from Saturday afternoon to Sunday nite..left Missy and Garry under the care of my 24 year old son..when I came home he calmly tells me that the dogs (maybe one maybe both) ate a plastic bag..he had given them bones that I left in the bag. He put the bag in the bathroom trash can...somebody got into it. I saw remains of a small bag in the garbage that looked like it had been ripped apart but not much was actually missing. He is saying it was a big (gallon size) bag..I know the symptoms to look for for blockage..I don't know if I should call the vet..I don't even know which dog it was.....both are acting fine; eating, pooping normal so far...I am worried...any advice would be appreciated.

More they likely, they didn't eat much of it, and it will pass through with no problems. As long as you know the symptoms to look for, they should be fine. Hoping it will all come out fine! :-)

I wouldn't be too concerned about them eating some chunks of plastic. It will probably make for some funky looking poo but all should be fine. Just keep an eye on them but definitely don't stress over it.

 

If it was hard plastic, I would be concerned. But I wouldn't worry too much about chunks of plastic bag. It should pass through no problem.

Thank you all...both dogs seem fine. I am guessing since it happened Sunday...they should both be fine. I examine their poop after each time they go!!

Near Halloween Dutch ate about 1.5 lbs of candy corn and the bag it was in (parts of the bag, I'm sure. He had not so much as an out of place burp.
