Guest killdawabbit Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Anyone have any fail proof worm cures or meds. I put him on a round of panacur (safegaurd) every 14 days and he still gets them. I'm going to try oral diatomaceous earth with the panacur. Hopefully the diatomes will rip apart those little f%$#ers. its war baby! Quote
cleptogrey Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 is your pup on a monthly dose of interceptor for heartworm? it also does a good job w/ other worms. Quote
Batmom Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 If they're flattish white worms that you see in poop or wiggly grains of rice you see on dog's butt, they're tapeworms. Panacur doesn't treat tapeworms. You need Drontal for those and regular Advantage/Frontline use to control fleas. Guest dnjglassdesigns Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Some old vets will give a shot for the tapeworms. I am not sure what it is but it works. I am not sure if you take them to the dog park, but wash paws with warm water when you come home, as for your yard they can live for a short time. Treat the yard with dia earth and that will take care of the yard, plus it will kill any fleas you have in the yard. Quote
Guest eaglflyt Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Tapeworms come from fleas. Regular flea control is your best friend. We use Frontline Plus every month, year round. Your vet can recommend the treatment for tapeworms such as drontal. Panacur doesn't treat tapes. More info HERE. Good Luck! ; ) Quote
