lilythetigerdog
Silver is a very good boy who is happy that we brought in an indoor tree-toilet for this frosty season. He has peed on the tree 4 times now since it's been up and it's always when we aren't looking and two times it has been right after he has been outside. And every time it has been when I am not home, but DH is home. If I could catch him in the act I could tell him "NO!" but so far he has eluded us. Any tips? Has anyone else's tree been tinkled on? Guest IGmom4now
No advice except to separate dog from the tree location when you can't supervise. This is just one of the reasons, btw, that I don't put up a tree. That, and the cats would be in it..
TheFullHouse
Well a tip for next year, little bells all around the bottom branches. If you hear a bell ring, you can stop him from hiking his leg. Works like a charm, but you have to respond every time you hear a bell ring. Guest MyHoodies
I gave up on an indoor Christmas tree years ago. The cats use to climb it, chew it and it was only decorated from the middle down from all the orniments being knocked off . So now I decorate an tree outside and have lighted garland as window treatments. Not quite the same but saves me a lot of fustration. But all my neighbors get to enjoy the tree too. Guest Hoolyghans
Spike is not quite 2. Psycho cat Bob is 2 1/2. The tree was put in an X-pen for it's own protection.

Guest Sweetreba
I went with a 4 ft. tree that is on a table and I have had no problems.
lilythetigerdog
Yeah - looks like I'm going to have to put an x-pen around it next year or the bells! I like that idea - "every time a bell rings an angel gets it's wings..." and Silver pees on a tree! Quote Image removed. Not within the GreyTalk signature guidelines of <15 KB file size limit. Guest kydie
O.K. not funny to you, but any one with a dog, any kind of dog, has lived with this, Silver wants to make sure everyone knows this is his Christmas tree, and don't forget it, eating the silver icicles and finding them in tomorrow's poop is another great advantage to owning dogs, greyt Christmas fun

I was going to suggest a belly band and/or keep him away from the tree.
