Guest deanna
We're taking him in today to have a nasty tooth checked out. Much of the root is exposed and black and there's gum disease around it. I'm afraid they'll really want to take it out. He's almost 12... so old to go under. Good thoughts our way please. Guest kydie
I know it is hard when they are so old, and scarey to put them under, but bad teeth can cause other bad health issues, Good Luck Mr James, keep us updated on him!

Guest deanna
So, vet says that his yucky tooth is imminently destined for abscessing, so he's going under and getting a full dental and the tooth removed. This all happens Monday. GOOD THOUGHTS PLEASE!! ps: they're confident that he'll be ok... but i'm being a worried mama.

Guest MyBoys
Many good thoughts for James, knowing he will be fine once that nasty thing is gone.
FiveRoooooers
You will worry until the moment you get James home. But better to get that tooth taken care of before he becomes really uncomfortable and avoid having to deal with escalated issues later on. I fretted Pal's dental on Monday, and he did beautifully. He is 11.3. Best of luck and lots of prayers coming your way. Quote Old Dogs are the Best Dogs. Thank you, campers. Current enrollees: Punkin. AnnIE Oooh M Angels: Pal . Segugio. Sorella (TPGIT). Guest mirthlesstroll
I just had an abcess in my own tooth - unbelievably painful! James will feel so much better without that nasty tooth.
Guest Energy11
Just try not to worry. Did they give him antibiotics? Usually, that is what is done, so the "gunk" from the abcess doesn't go into his system. If they didn't, I'd call and ask. Good luck and lots of love! silverfish
Sending good thoughts for James! My first and very much loved greyhound was James, and he lived till he was thirteen and a half. He had a dental at twelve and sailed through it - that was for an abscess. He was sore, but much better for having it done! Give him a scritch from me.
