Is Ginger Safe To Giove A Dog For Motion Sickness?

All,

 

Road tripping with Bang tomorrow, to NJ for Xmas. She has occasionally barfed in the car, and we were thinking of giving her a ginger capsule at breakfast. It works for us and for Mythbusters!

 

But my shock at finding out that GRAPES can kill a dog makes me nervous. Is ginger safe?

Ginger didn't work for us and we now use a dramamine pill good luck! Have a fun trip!

we never tried ginger (doesn't work for me in pills, but I find candied or crystallized ginger works a bit better for me if I nibble on it in cars and boats when needed... yummy too).

 

We now give Cerenia to Haka for the very long car rides. We discovered "pill pockets" by Greenies also, he loves Beef flavor.

Frank loves a nibble of candied ginger now and then (he does not get carsick, but I do; so I keep the candied ginger on hand.)

If the motion sickness isn't to severe ginger should work. Something as simple as a couple of ginger snap cookies 1/2 hour before the car ride will work.

 

It is certainly worth a try.
