Guest schell86
I am trying to find a safe product to get rid of the fleas. A groomer recommended we use Zodiac. I have been trying to find out if it is greyhound safe. I searched on here and saw that people have used it successfully, however when I searched with google, I found that GPA-MN says do NOT use it (http://gpa-mn.org/files/greyhound_tips.pdf its under the fleas section). They don't say why. Does anyone here know if it is safe or not?
Guest Energy11
NOPE, I would NOT use it. Adams is safe, and I use it all the time, but I don't use Zodiac or Seargents products.
Guest Scouts_mom
I would never use Zodiac on my dogs.
Guest Energy11
Basically, the ONLY thing that is safe for the dogs, is Adams Flea and Tick Mist, Frontline, Frontline Plus and Advantage. Many GH groups have warned against using Advantix, including GPA Greater Orlando. Me? I guess I am lucky! NO fleas or ticks with the Adams. When I was working for the vets, I used Sentinel, HW protection, which included an ingrediant to make fleas sterile ... worked like a charm, BUT, very expensive. Guest schell86
Thanks! We got some Adams plus flea shampoo...hopefully that takes care of this problem!
Sighthounds4me
Anything with Permethrin is NOT safe for sighthounds or cats! For more info, please check these sites: http://www.hartzkills.org/ http://www.hartzvictims.org/ By the way, when applying Frontline, Advantage or other safe spot-ons, make sure you wait at least 24 hours after a bath. The bath will strip the skin's natural oils, which the products need to travel on the body. You need to let the oils build back up. Hubcitypam
Have used lots of Adams spray and shampoo. Great stuff. Some GH groups do use Advantix, which has permethrin, but I'm personally wary of it.
Guest Energy11
ADAMS IS SAFE! I have used it for over a year, and my former vet/employer, recommends it for sighthounds. I have had NO problems, and I have five.
