Guest koolaidnconner Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Not sure what happened now but my boy woke up with horrible diaherra and vomiting. He was in pain and I took him to the vet. We are now on a course of prednisone. When ever we have had episodes since his DX they have been very short. But this time just seemed way worse, he can barely keep his back end up, constantly licking and crying when he moves. I know we will get over this. I love you Conner! Quote

RobinM Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 We start with 40mg a day right now. I am going in Monday to volunteer and I will get more than depending on how he is. is he taking the imuran too? I'm sure you rememberour IBD nightmare with Beau back in Jan. he too started out on 40mg of pred. We didn't get too far until we added in the imuran and we also upped the pred to 50mg about 3 weeks into it. That is when we started seeing the real results. We are at 10mg of pred and 25mg of imuran now and we hope to lower the pred to 5mg in another week. It's a horrible disease and just when you think you have it under control- it's not. My heart is with you both. I hope he gets the results he needs on the pred alone. xoxo Quote ROBIN ~ Mom to: Beau Think It Aint, Chloe JC Allthewayhome, Teddy ICU Drunk Sailor, Elsie N Fracine , Ollie RG's Travertine, Ponch A's Jupiter~ Yoshi, Zoobie & Belle, the kitties. Guest koolaidnconner Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 No he is not on imuran. What does that do? Today he still has diaherra but not going as often. He is still in pain though, when he gets up he yelps. And yes greyhounds sleep a lot but he is sleeping more than he usually does today. Not much activity going on for him today. Quote
