FountainLady Posted August 2, 2009 Share Posted August 2, 2009 I'm very surprised that the insurance company that is paying the claim hasn't wanted the dog to be euthanized. Most of them require this - or they'll drop their homeowners insurance. And you'll pay hell to get insurance anywhere after a dog bite claim has been paid out (let alone a dog that has killed another) if you still have that dog. Re-homing doesn't work, as the insurance companies feel that you are just trying to hide the dog with a friend or family member. All the claims paid from insurance companies are instantly accessible for other companies to see. They won't be able to just switch companies and have this go away .......
